MANSA MUSA : richest king
Hello Guys !! I am back again with another interesting information about a wealthy king...π
So before going into today's topic thanks for everyone who viewed and commented on my last postππ...let's get into the topic:
We all know that in this period that "AFRICA" is the poorest continent on earth. "Mansa Musa" or "Musa I " a king of the country "Mali" is known as the wealthiest historical figure ever found and today's wealthiest man "Jeff Bezos 's" (net worth - 185.8 billion US$) money is just 1/4 of this wealthy king's treasures. Do you want to know his net worth ? then its - 415 billion US$ ( for your kind information this is before 700 yrs ππ²π²). This king is also not heir of the ruling king before his rule. You would ask me a question now that then how did he become a king ???
On those days there were no maps to go with , they do not have an idea that the world is in spherical shape so they thought that there is an end of the world. The exploration interest of the predecessor of musa's (abubakari II ) have intended him to visit the end of the worldπ. At first he sent 400 boats to discover the end of earth so that he could know the dangers and plan accordingly but only one boat returned as they met many disasters in their way to end. The king was so furious and full of curiosity to visit the end of the earth. So, he himself decided to move on and he did not believe anyone inside his family circle to announce as a temporary king as there was many competition. Therefore he thought of choosing an boy who is not related to the royal family and the shower of luck fell on mansa musa. He was announced the king of Mali. The king left the kingdom and never returned again to takeover his kingdom and that's the shower of luck. Musa was a king who realised that the way of earning money is not capturing and looting, its trading. He caught that point well and decided to check for two commodities which was readily available in his kingdom. He also found out that they were salt and gold. Mali was full of gold mines. Salt was also in a adequate amount to export to all countries and continentsππ. They exported to really a long distance like to India, America and Europe ; It means before 700 yrs which had no proper transportation.
A best example for his wealth is his procession towards "MECCA" while he thought that he was losing grip of his brain (getting old). he moved with a herd of thousand camels decorated with pure gold. He also had sets of people to - take care of camels, horses, elephants and other animals; take care of his need; his entertainments; cook for him (chefs ); common people to carry goods and other things which they could not load on animals. His procession was that big that when the first camel crosses a point, it takes 3 days for the last camel to cross the same pointπ²π².This wealthy man passed away happily without any defeat...πͺπ
